Inspiration was derived from the Zealot class found in The Black Company campaign setting.
Zeal Mastery (Power)
Religious fanatics devote themselves to a very specific interpretation of faith to the near-exclusion of all other points of view. They tend towards swift and immediate action to achieve their goals. They are unshakable in their resolve and dismiss any who oppose them as enemies of the faith.
Base Mastery: 1
Benefit: Smite, Zeal Token Pool.
Expanded Mastery: 2. Righteous Fervor, Endurance.
Expanded Mastery: 3. Smite: damage bonus = ½ character level. Zeal Tokens: can spend on morale bonus to defense(1:1), duration = cha mod in rounds.
Expanded Mastery: 4. Prerequisite: Mastery level 2. Righteous Fervor: additional +2 will, +2 init, +10 speed, -2def penalty. Intimidate as a move action.
Expanded Mastery: 5. Smite: damage bonus = ¾ character level. Zeal Tokens: may be spent on a morale bonus to all saves, self or ally within 10 feet, duration = cha mod in rounds.
Expanded Mastery: 6. Prerequisite: Mastery level 2. Righteous Fervor: additional +2 will, +2 init, +10 speed, -2def penalty. Die Hard.
Expanded Mastery: 7. Smite: damage bonus = character level. Fear Immunity.
Expanded Mastery: 8. Prerequisite: Mastery level 2. Righteous Fervor: no fatigue.
Righteous Fervor: Overflowing with the total conviction of his beliefs, a zealot is able to push his body far beyond its limits to accomplish his goals. A number of times per day equal the number of feats spent in this mastery tree plus his charisma modifier divided by 2 the fanatic is able to enter a righteous fervor. When in this state, he gains a +2 bonus to will saves, a +2 bonus to initiative, a +10 boost to his speed, the ability to use flurry of blows, and takes a -2 penalty to his defense. He may remain in this state for a number of rounds equal to 3 plus his constitution modifier. This ability is very draining, and leaves the fanatic fatigued for the duration of the encounter.
Smite: A number of times per day equal to his number of zeal mastery feats plus his charisma mod divided by two, the zealot may attempt to smite an enemy of his beliefs in a single attack action. For this blow, he gains a bonus to damage equal to ¼ of his character level (minimum of 1).
Zeal Token Pool: One token is gained for each successful blow struck while under the affects of Righteous Fervor. Tokens may be spent as a free action on oneself or an ally within 10 feet. Each token spent conveys +1 morale bonus to attack or damage for a number of rounds equal to your charisma modifier. Tokens last till the end of the current encounter. The Fury and Zeal token pools are mutually exclusive.
